Oil painting on canvas, depicting a mountain landscape with an animated scene (soldiers with helmets, asking for information), of strong Roman provenance; attributable to Andrea Locatelli (Rome 1695-1741). Locatelli served many noble Roman families and lived through the cultural transformations of Rome between the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
The painting shows a relining from past times; the frame is not contemporary to the painting, but from a later period.
