Large ceramic statue, on a wooden base, with silver-plated copper parts, depicting: "Gallant scene" in perfect condition; attributed to Guido Caccipuoti (Naples, August 11, 1892 - Milan, 1953). He belongs to an ancient family of majolica makers, from whom he learns the secrets of ceramic art. A modeler of great talent, he stands out for his beautiful sculptures of animals and genre. Having moved with his brother Mario to Treviso, he works at the "Gregori" factory and in 1915 he successfully participates in the Treviso Art Exhibition. Occasionally, he also has collaborative relationships with the company "Lazzar & Marcon" of Treviso. In 1920 he presented some works at the XII Venice Biennale and the following year he exhibited at the Regional Art Exhibition of Treviso. Some of his works were purchased by the King of Italy, Mussolini, Starace and Prince George of England. In 1927, together with his brother Mario and with Angelo Bignami as administrative and commercial director of the company, he founded the "Gres d'Arte Cacciapuoti Bignami & C." factory based in Milan in viale Premuda 34. In 1930, due to the premature death of his brother, he remained the sole owner of the company. The factory immediately met with great success and became famous for the realistic sculptures created by Guido. cm. 65 x 35 x 35h our price € 650.00
