Rare Qing Dynasty armchair
Period: Early 20th century
Rare folding armchair, with a shaped form, with concealed wheels at the base, useful for moving it. Belonging to the Qing dynasty (lasting 268 years), founded by the Manchu clan in present-day Manchuria, the Qing dynasty (Ch'ing) began its reign in China, when Manchu military forces conquered the Ming capital, Beijing in 1644, until the Xinhai Revolution (1911) and the abdication of its last emperor (1912).
The armchair can be dated to around the early 1900s.
