The Lord Chancellor, formally titled Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain, is the traditional highest-ranking minister among the Great Officers of State.
The paintings are the work of the English artist John BOWLES, born in 1701 and died in 1779; younger son of Thomas Bowles and brother of Thomas. His works have been auctioned mainly in the Print-Multiple category. The first lot is The Royal Palace of Kensington/The Royal Palade of Windsor, auctioned in 1991 by Sotheby's (Print-Multiple) and the most recent is Lebeck, after Godfrey Kneller passed in 2023 (Print-Multiple). His works are mainly sold in the United Kingdom.
