"Pendulum clock signed Arthur Waagen (1833-1898), "Time is Money""\n\nImposing and rare parade pendulum, in the largest dimensions ever made by the artist, complete with an ebonized pedestal with four gilded and chiseled turned bronze feet, the sculpture is in bronze-patinated metal by Arthur Waagen (1833-1898), titled "Time is Money". The pendulum consists of a smiling young woman decorated with coins and cornucopias. This proverb "Time is money" is present in the work of Benjamin Franklin, which appeared in George Fisher's 1748 book, The American Instructor, in which Franklin wrote: "Remember that time is money".\n\nThe clock face is in bronze worked in bas-relief with enamelled ceramic numbering.\nThe clock has only been polished, fixing the patina with gamma lacquer, waxed (with professional drying wax) and polished.\nThe mechanism has been completely cleaned and overhauled and is in full working order, the time and chime movements are spring-driven with an original key.
