WONDERFUL ANTIQUE GILT BRONZE PENDULUM CLOCK H.57 REPAIRED, NEW SPRINGS.
Impressive pendulum clock completely in gilded and chiseled bronze, including the dial, ceramic numbering and location of the bronze clockmaker "Ch.Auriol Carcassonne". Sculpture work with masks, griffins and Minerva in the center.
The mechanism is wound (time winding at 4 and "ding" chime winding at 8), with leaf suspension, has been completely overhauled, disassembled and calibrated with replacement of both winding springs (the original springs almost always need to be replaced due to loss of original tempering, which would cause the pendulum not to keep the correct time, especially over time... therefore I always prefer to replace them. The complete overhaul of the mechanism cost 280 euros.
The case was also completely disassembled, bath-washed, with professional "Ti-Bi" cleaning products, then stabilized with painting and patinated like the original.

The era is the second half of the nineteenth century and the style is Napoleon III or Second Empire (period of eclecticism).
