Large blue and white Chinese vase with lid; the vase has a wavy/lobed mouth, a raised mark on one side, and a Foo dog on the lid, typical of the region (minor defects). The vase is dated around the first half of the 1800s.
Belonging to the Qing Dynasty (which lasted 268 years), founded by the Manchu clan in present-day Manchuria, the Qing (Ch'ing) Dynasty began its reign in China when the Manchu military forces conquered the Ming capital, Beijing, in 1644, until the Xinhai Revolution (1911) and the abdication of its last emperor (1912).
Measurements are approx. 90H cm (without lid approx. 74H cm (diameter approx. 40 cm))
