Large clock with mechanism signed "Vincenti"
Period: Second half of the 19th century
Large, important gilded bronze table clock inlaid with boulle, signed Jean Vincenti and dated 1855; perfect and in working order.
Jean Vincenti, originally from Corsica, founded a factory in Montbéliard in 1791 for mechanical parts and watch cases. In 1834, Vincenti transformed the company into a Società (Corporation) and in 1850 established its headquarters in Paris on Rue d'Anjou. In 1855, the company was awarded for the quality of its products, which were exported all over the world. The company then opened many active branches until the end of the 19th century.
