Jean Vincenti, originally from Corsica, founded a factory in Montbéliard in 1791 for mechanical parts and watch cases. In 1834, Vincenti transformed the company into a Società (Corporation) and in 1850 established its headquarters in Paris on Rue d'Anjou. In 1855, the company was awarded for the quality of its products, which were exported all over the world.
